DESCRIPTION:The Maltese Community Council of NSW invites you to its Sette Giugno commemoration. We remember the significant historical events on 7 June\, 1919\, in Malta with a speech about the historic story\, and musical segments by the Maltese Concert Band. Refreshments will be provided after the commemorations.\n\nThe Maltese Concert Band will open the program from 10.30am as guests arrive\, with the ceremony commencing at 11am. If you would like to attend please call 0419 476 924‬ or email contact@mccnsw.org.au to help give an indication of the number of attendees.\n\nSette Giugno is a public holiday in Malta commemorating events that took place on 7 June 1919 when Maltese protested and rioted against their ill treatment at the hands of the British colonial government. It has been a very hard time for us all especially our elderly. We know that many Maltese elderly need help to maintain their independence with living in their homes. \nPlease note that we have moved our usual time from evening to a morning time\, to hopefully make it easier to attend. \nIn our community we have the Australian Government Aged Care System that is designed to help has many as possible. \nAre you wondering if you can get some help with day-to-day tasks around the house? \nMaybe you need some respite care while your family or carer is away? \nThere are many services that can help you maintain a good quality of life as you get older. \nAs you get older\, living independently in your own home can become more difficult. If you’re finding it harder to do the things you used to\, you can ask for some help. \nEligibility is based on factors like your health\, how you’re managing at home\, and any support you currently receive.
